Health and safety
Everyone goes home safe. It's the first thing we plan for and the last thing we check.
Our commitment
Quality and safety come first on every job. Welding, lifting and working at height carry real risks, and we manage them deliberately.
We work within the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and take our duties to our people, your people and the public seriously. Our directors are on the tools, so safety is a practical priority, not paperwork.

How we manage risk
Planning
Job-specific safety plans, hazard identification and risk controls before work starts.
Hot work
Permits, fire watch, screening and clear-out of combustibles wherever we weld or cut.
Working at height
Suitable access, edge protection and fall-arrest equipment for every task.
Lifting
Lift plans, competent riggers and clear exclusion zones around suspended loads.
Confined spaces
Entry permits, atmospheric checks and rescue plans for hulls, tanks, tunnels and shafts.
People
Site inductions, toolbox talks, PPE for every task and a culture where anyone can stop the job.
Stop work. Speak up.
Anyone on any GT Engineering job can stop work if something doesn't feel right. We'd always rather pause than have an incident.
- Incidents and near-misses are reported and learned from
